ProSidian seeks an Oil and Gas (Petroleum) Geologist / Geophysicist / Consultant located in Cape Town, South Africa, to support an engagement for U.S. Govt. International Technical Assistance Program (ITAP) providing assistance on technical, regulatory, environmental, and financial management for national development on a range of energy and non-energy resources.
Key Responsibilities: Provide industry technical expertise, experience, training, and support with Energy, Extractives, and Renewable Energy concerns.Participate in a highly integrated, multi-functional team tasked with opportunity generation, drilling, and producing interests.Advise and assist stakeholders to define the controls on ore distribution, geotechnical domains, and hydrogeological pathways.Support engagements using software such as Gocad, Geomodeller, and Leapfrog.Compile technical reports for the investment community and provide geological advice to institutional and industrial clients.Train and support stakeholders in developing data packages for tender.Lead prospect evaluations and perform development geology.Integrate geologic, geophysical, and production data while mapping, planning, and executing drilling and development plans.Help clients generate detailed isopach maps, lithofacies maps, and structure maps.Minimum Requirements: Minimum of Ten (10) years of consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years.BA/BS, MA/MS and/or Ph.D. in Geology or Geophysics (or related fields) and minimum 7-10 years of experience in conventional Oil and Gas development.10 years of experience in geophysical sciences and/or environmental industry.Ability to work well and communicate strongly within a multi-functional and integrated team.Exceptional organizational skills and knowledge of Geographic or other geologic software systems.Core Competencies: TeamworkLeadershipBusiness AcumenCommunicationMotivationAgilityJudgmentOrganizationBenefits: Competitive CompensationGroup Medical Health Insurance Benefits401(k) Retirement Savings PlanVacation and Paid Time-Off (PTO) BenefitsAdditional Information: ProSidian Consulting is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, or veteran status.
