The Occupational Therapist Weekend PRN provides occupational therapy services to all patients including evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, education and documentation.
Works with patients to help them achieve a fulfilled and satisfied state in life through the use of purposeful activity or interventions designed to achieve occupational outcomes which promote health, prevent injury or disability to develop, improve, sustain or restore the highest possible level of independence.This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department.
This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, and LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet organizational needs as necessary.GENERAL DUTIESPatient evaluation and interpretation of findings:- Chooses appropriate forms of evaluation.- Interprets evaluation findings.- Sets goals according to findings and patient input.Implementation of treatment plan:- Develops a treatment plan that is appropriate for the diagnosis and population of the patient.- Implements treatment plan with appropriate modifications as needed.- Re-assesses and revises goals and treatment plan as indicated by patient's status.Documentation of services provided:- Uses approved terminology, forms and programs for documentation.- Completes documentation within the required time frames.- Accurately documents charges according to services provided.Education and training:- Provides education to patient and family members.- Assists with student supervision, teaching, community education and staff education.- Participates in assigned PI committee activities and shares information with staff.Communication and coordination of goals and treatment plan:- Participates in staffing and team meetings.- Communicates with patient and family.- Collaborates with team members on various Occupational Therapy initiatives.EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS1 year of experienceEDUCATION QUALIFICATIONSRequired: Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy (NOEH/TOURO)LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSCPR/Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (American Heart Association)Certification Name: Non-Violent Crisis PreventionOT License Louisiana State Board of Medical ExaminersWORK SHIFT: Weekends (United States of America)LCMC Health is a community.
