MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo lead and direct the nursing service in the hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASCompile, implement and monitor the hospital specific nursing strategy.Drive and support a culture of quality nursing care and patient safety.Manage resources to ensure optimal operational efficiency.Manage the patient experience.Lead and manage people in the nursing department.Manage key stakeholder relations.REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: 3 or 4-year Diploma or 4-year Degree in Nursing; Nursing Management qualification.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years professional experience in a tertiary healthcare institution; 2-3 years management experience in a tertiary healthcare institution.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Patient Safety management; Infection Prevention and Control management; Nursing Education.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEInfection prevention and control.Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies.Clinical risk management.Management of staff productivity.Nursing functional knowledge.Auditing and accreditation processes.Human resource processes including employee relations.All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
