As part of their ongoing digital transformation, they are seeking a skilled Nursing Informatics Specialist to support the integration of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies within their ICU department, driving improvements in patient care and clinical workflows.
About the Role The Nursing Informatics Specialist will play a key role in the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing support of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other digital health applications in the ICU.
This individual will provide specialist nursing guidance to doctors, nurses, and clinical staff, ensuring the seamless integration of technology into ICU patient care.
You will work closely with the Health Informatics team and contribute to the successful utilisation of IT systems within the division, ultimately improving the quality of healthcare delivery.

Competitive salary: R80,000 – R100,000 CTC per month Over and above salary (including Medical Aid and a retirement fund) Professional growth: Opportunities to work in a leading healthcare environment with advanced digital health solutions Contribute to improving patient care and optimising clinical workflows Key Responsibilities Assist in the identification and procurement of an EHR system and other clinical applications for ICU Manage the configuration, planning, and implementation of ICU digital health systems (including EHR) Ensure effective use and optimisation of ICU digital health systems to enhance patient care Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the management of EHRs Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across clinical and IT departments Support ongoing training and user engagement for optimal system use Continuously assess and improve clinical workflows and processes with a focus on patient care Manage the integration of new technologies to improve healthcare delivery Requirements Registered/Professional Nursing qualification Nursing specialist qualification in ICU Postgraduate degree/qualification in health informatics Minimum of 5 years' clinical experience in ICU User experience with clinical, hospital, and/or financial applications/systems within a hospital system Informatics experience with clinical information system implementation, support, and optimisation Experience with EHR/EMR system implementation 2–3 years of managerial and/or training experience in a clinical environment Work experience in the South African private healthcare sector Experience in healthcare management Clinical data analytics and reporting Clinical governance and risk management Health care information management and IT infrastructure In-depth knowledge of ICU nursing, clinical workflow, and medical terminology Proficiency in the management of electronic health records, including regulatory requirements and emerging trends Project management and quality improvement methodologies Knowledge of IT integration standards and clinical decision support systems Strong research, report writing, and presentation skills Training and facilitation methodologies for clinical staff
