The department of Cardiology at UMass Memorial Medical Center is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our overnight Step-down/Ward unit group of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). At UMass you will work in a collaborative, team-based system, at the top of your license in a dynamic outpatient clinic role.
Work closely with multiple interventional Cardiologist and EP providers
See diverse population in the Cardiology service line of a tertiary medical center
UMass Memorial Medical Center located in the heart of Massachusetts in Worcester, is the largest academic, tertiary medical center in central mass with a large referral base. We receive patient referrals for a variety of complex cases:
Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization
General medical cardiology with complex care needs
Heart Failure with mechanical cardiac support programs
Expansive and cutting-edge structural heart program including TAVR
Electrophysiology program with breakthrough technologies like Pulse-Field ablations
As an APP on the UMass Cardiology team you would:
Obtain complete medical histories
Complete comprehensive physical exams
Order and interpret lab and radiographic data
Formulate diagnosis and therapeutic treatment plans
Order and prescribe medications
Assist with patient flow through the service line
Counsel patients and family
Work Schedule:
Three 12-hour night shifts a week: 7pm-7am (paid at 40 hours)
1 weekend per month

Requirements:
Masters degree from accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Current board certification
Current NP/PA license for Massachusetts
Current DEA and Massachusetts controlled substance registration
Must have ACLS
Experience:
Cardiology experience preferred
Experience in nocturnal inpatient medical environment
