VACANT POSITION – NIGHT AUDITOR
Recreation Africa Leisure Industries (PTY) Ltd requires the services of a Night Auditor
We are seeking a passionate and experience Night Auditor to join our team and contribute to the exceptional experiences offered to our guests. As a Night Auditor you will be responsible for balancing the day`s financial transactions, preparing detailed financial reports, and ensuring all accounting records are accurate and up-to-date and reporting anomalies. You will also oversee the hotel`s overnight operations, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction while handling any late-night inquiries or issues. Your role is essential in maintaining the financial integrity and smooth operation of the hotel.
The responsibilities will include:
• Engage proactively, interact individually with guests, attentively addressing their requests.
• Warmly greet guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner, check-in and provide guests with any information they need to join their stay. Check-out early departure guests.
• Verify posted entries to guest and non-guest accounts. Resolve room status and rate discrepancies.
• Verify Daily House Activity report and ensure that all arrivals have checked into the Hotel and that guest folios have been opened.
• Checks the Guest Folio Pits to ensure all dockets have been processed and allocated to the correct bill, prior to the departure of the guest.
• Closes down the point-of-sale equipment, which links F&B Sales outlets with the Front Office system in accordance with laid down procedures.
• Reconcile and review of end-of-day takings logged reports on all accounts in a timely manner.
• Carries out a detailed audit on the previous day`s business and verifies the revenue taken.
• Conduct nightly audits on check-ins, check-outs and no-show Guests.
• Balance and take note of card transactions and submit to the Finance Department.
• Make management aware upon investigation of any anomalies found between daily reports and takings.
• Balances pre-lists received by Reception during the day.
• Respond to guest complaints, requests and emergencies in a timely manner, escalate if necessary.
• Promote a safe working environment and adhere to emergency procedures. Ensure safety of all guests and attend to issues promptly.
• Assist the Front Office Manager, Duty Manager and Reception staff with the processing of all front desk procedures.
• Processes revenue allocation from all-inclusive Guest Bills to other departments.
• Prepares guest key audits and establishes if any keys for vacant rooms are missing.
• Complete several other audits of rates, Food and Beverage Control, Laundry Charges and House Accounts.
• Prepare an end of shift Hand Over to other departments.
• Schedule guest wake-up calls and reservations as requested.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally.
• Maintains the hotel policy on credit/lost and found hotel guest`s properties.
Minimum Requirements:
• Previous Hotel Night Audit experience of at least two years' experience in the hospitality industry is essential.
• A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management is preferred.
• Experience with accounting and facilities management software is essential.
• Excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills are essential.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Email.
• Familiarity with hotel industry practices and experience in Guest Services, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Detail orientated with organisational and time management abilities during overnight shifts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest inquiries with professionalism.
• The ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Must be well groomed to present the brand, neat and big on hygiene.
• Must be a Team player, reliable, energetic and goal driven.
