Purpose of the Role: Responsible for finding and launching existing stores and developing new stores while driving the brand regionally. Minimum Job Requirements: National Senior Certificate (Matric), prerequisite. Relevant Business-related tertiary qualification. Minimum 5 years experience in the property/business: construction/development. Minimum 5 years experience specific to the building and hardware retail industry. Thorough knowledge and understanding of local property and retail development market. Experience Required: Skilled in conducting commercial negotiations, facilitating agreements, and managing conflict. Firm understanding of financial statements, particularly cash flow statements and financing options. Ability to undertake and interpret financial feasibility studies. Thorough knowledge of leasing and contracts. Ability to interpret demographic data. Competencies: Strong negotiating skills. Highly motivated self-starter. High level of integrity and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Report to the Regional Operations Executive/Director: Manage and provide leadership to the Regional team on any viable opportunities in the property market. Ensure that the company has a strong presence in the property development industry, and has an opportunity to find great sites. Evaluate prospective sites on a Macro and Micro level. Present selected sites to Regional Committee for Group Membership approval. Finalise lease agreements and secure selected sites for development. Interview and evaluate prospective retailers, including cost analysis of the setting up. Oversee the facilitation of sale of existing stores. Develop a growth strategy in line with the Regional Retail Operations strategy to drive business growth. Provide leadership to retailers in new business development, store development and current retail management best operating practices to ensure the stores are sustainable, profitable, and competitive in the market. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, corporate identity and related audits in all new and existing stores to be launched. Develop and grow the brand at retail, while growing a network of sustainable retail stores and members. Implement Best Operating Procedures (BOP) in retail operations in line with national standardised processes regarding development of new and revamped stores. Manage the corporate identity of the brand through ensuring and monitoring that the new Regional stores are adhering to acceptable store standards, image, and design by adhering to the CI manual.
