RS Recruitment Services is assisting a leading organisation in the RETAIL HARDWARE industry to recruit a NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to be based at their offices in DURBAN, KZN . Basic R45k car allowance R21k medical aid and provident fund benefits. OUR CLIENT HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND IS PART OF A GROUP OF 350 RETAIL STORES ACROSS SOUTHERN AFRICA. The purpose of this position is to find new business by facilitating the entry of new stores into the group. Applicants should have/be the following: National Senior Certificate (Matric), pre-requisite. Relevant business-related tertiary qualification. Minimum 5 years experience specific to the FMCG retail industry. Experience in the building/hardware industry, an advantage. Minimum 5 years experience in the property business Thorough knowledge and understanding of local property and retail development market. Firm understanding of financial statements particularly cash flow statements and financing options. Ability to undertake and interpret financial feasibility studies. Strong negotiating skills. Thorough knowledge of leasing and contracts. Ability to interpret demographic data. Duties and Responsibilities Manage and provide leadership to the regional team on any viable opportunities in the property market. Ensuring that the group has a strong presence in the property development industry. Evaluation of prospective sites on macro and micro levels. Presentation of selected sites to the Regional Committee for membership approval. Finalisation of lease agreements and securing of selected sites for development. Interview and evaluation of prospective retailers, including cost analysis of the setting up. Oversight of facilitation of the sale of existing stores. Develop a growth strategy in line with the regional retail operations strategy to drive business growth. Provide leadership to retailers in new business development. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements Develop and grow a network of sustainable retail stores and members. Implementation of Best Operating Procedures.
