We are seeking a New Business Development Consultant for a permanent role based in Cape Town, Western Cape. Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: Technical Diploma or Degree as well as sales courses / diploma or continuous development3 years' experience in Key Accounts Management and Solar PV technologiesSales Background / Advanced Selling / Key Accounts Management / Customer Centric Approach / Client Relationship SkillsHigh level of experience with MS Office and CRM platforms, attention to detail / good punctualityKnowledge of the Solar Industry, Competitor Products, Solutions and ServicesA basic understanding of electrical concepts, including Direct Current up to 1000VDC, and Alternating Current, both LV and MV, single and three phaseUnderstanding of Electrical DC Storage methods (eg Batteries, UPS)PV system design, including string sizing, inverter specificationThe successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to: Identifying and onboarding potential partners (System Integrators/EPC's & Distributors) through scouting visits and phone callsDevelop and maintain a robust sales pipeline by identifying and targeting potential residential and commercial solar energy customersEducate customers on the benefits of solar energy and provide tailored solar solutions to meet their energy needsConduct site assessments and offer expert advice on system design, sizing, and installation optionsPrepare and present compelling proposals and quotations to prospective customersCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management and installation teams, to ensure a smooth transition from sale to installationStay up to date on solar industry trends, policies, and incentives to provide accurate and informed information to customersMeet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets; Project ManagementEnsure that CRM data is up to date and that project forecasting is accurateManage and coordinate large projects until completed, being the central point of contact for the business partner and internal departmentsRegularly review and update the project schedule to identify potential delays and take corrective actions to prevent schedule slippageMaintain a well-organised sales pipeline, tracking leads at various stages, updating status of opportunities regularly and communicating the customer's needs to all relevant departmentsWork with the Energy & Marketing Director to ensure all key customers have valid and signed agreementsCheck discount schedules to ensure that all customers get the correct discount levels and access to all the products they need to run / grow their businessesRepresent the business within industry bodies and be an active member of the renewable energy communityOrganize monthly training events in your region (and later Southern Africa)Organize and attend joint training and trade events with our customersSalary: Market related
