About the roleA network technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of computer networks within an organisation, and is responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and communication systems. Network technicians are essential in supporting the organisation's connectivity and for ensuring that employees can effectively communicate and access resources.
What you will be doingNetwork Infrastructure Setup: Configure network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.Network Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving issues, and applying necessary updates and patches. Conduct regular inspections, diagnose network problems, and implement solutions promptly to minimise downtime.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve any network issues when they arise. Use network monitoring tools, diagnostic utilities, and technical expertise to identify the root cause of problems, whether it is related to hardware, software, or connectivity issues.User Support: Provide technical assistance and support to end-users experiencing network-related issues.
