Network Systems Engineer (Stellenbosch based)The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of all network systems. This is a Hybrid position – the successful candidate will spend 3 days a week in the Stellenbosch Office, so must reside in or near the Office.The successful candidate must have a Driver's License and own transport.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSetting up and managing all network related systems required to meet the organizational objectives, including installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining.Responsible for providing the network automation tools required to scale network operations.Keep track of network related systems and integrations by maintaining accurate documentation and diagrams.Work with the technology, operations, and business systems teams to ensure cross-functional compatibility, integration, and scaling of all network systems.Responsible for the adoption of network systems and automation tools.Continuously review existing systems output and performance and make incremental changes to improve and scale.Using the design and framework plan, build the systems accordingly and measure against the short- and medium-term goals.Identify and build network systems that drive service provisioning and automation, reducing the total cost of ownership.Work with network architects, network engineering, network monitoring, and transmission teams as the systems specialist, ensuring the correct systems and strategies are used.Work with end-users to identify and implement improvements.Manage suppliers and vendors to ensure the exact needs are met for all network related systems.Troubleshoot and resolve network systems, hardware, and software issues in a timely and efficient manner.In a test-lab environment, test and evaluate new systems and self-build systems to ensure the full technology stack remains up to date and relevant.Desired Experience & QualificationDegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Professional certifications: CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, or RHCE.Industry-related qualifications in networks, systems, or security.Deep understanding of networking and network design principles.Minimum 3 years in deploying and administrating IT or network management systems.Experience in the following network systems is advantageous: ACS platforms, Zabbix, Greylog, The Dude, Ansible, Splunk, AWS hosting platforms, Proxmox, and Grafana.Advanced experience on the Linux operating system and server environments.Skilled in Database design and implementation for high availability environments.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Package & RemunerationMarket related, competitive salary.
