Network Security Engineer

This is a full-time on-site role for a Network Security Engineer at Cyber Insight in City of Cape Town. The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for network administration, network security, network engineering, cybersecurity, and information security. Day-to-day tasks will include implementing and maintaining network security measures, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring the integrity of the network infrastructure.Qualifications:Experience:5+ years of ICT work experience, with a significant portion focused on networking.Hands-on experience with network and firewall implementations, support, and architecture.Technical Skills:Strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies.Proficiency in Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, etc.).Familiarity with Sophos products, especially in relation to network security.Experience with firewall configuration, management, and troubleshooting.Knowledge of related security services, such as VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.Responsibilities:Network and Firewall Implementation:Design, implement, and manage network security solutions, primarily using Fortinet and Sophos products.Configure and deploy firewalls, ensuring optimal security and performance.Support and Troubleshooting:Provide support for network security issues, including firewall rules, VPN connections, and intrusion prevention.Perform regular security assessments and audits on network infrastructure.Architecture and Strategy:Develop and maintain network security architectures that align with company objectives and industry best practices.Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network security solutions.Security Management:Monitor and respond to security events, ensuring timely incident resolution.Stay updated on emerging threats and vulnerabilities, implementing proactive security measures.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionInformation TechnologyIndustriesComputer and Network Security
