Network Engineer

Veriant Solutions is actively seeking a Network Engineer for a top client. Your expertise in monitoring, troubleshooting, provisioning, testing, and training will be vital to the success of the data center migration. This role requires occasional travel to client sites or data center facilities.
 What You'll Do: • Decommission old equipment
• Respond to outages
• Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance and health using industry-standard tools to ensure optimal functionality.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues swiftly, applying best practices and innovative solutions to minimize downtime.
• Provisioning: Configure and provision network equipment and services according to project specifications and best practices.
• Testing: Conduct thorough testing of network components to validate performance, reliability, and security before deployment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and processes to ensure compliance and ease of access for team members.
• Training: Provide training and support to team members and clients on network protocols, equipment usage, and best practices to enhance overall team knowledge and capability.
What You Bring: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in a data center environment.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and security principles.
• Proficiency in monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.).
• Experience with network provisioning and configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and collaborate with team members and clients.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site support and client engagements.
What We Offer: • Base salary of $125,000 – 150,000 annual
• Paid time off, holiday pay, and a floating holiday.
