Hire Resolve's Client is currently seeking a NC Superintendent Category Management who will play a pivotal role in the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the company's procurement and category management functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the category strategy within the non-core category areas, driving cost savings, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring supply chain sustainability.
Responsibilities Develop and execute category management strategies in line with organizational objectives Lead supplier negotiations to ensure best pricing and contractual terms Conduct market analysis and research to identify cost-saving opportunities Total cost of ownership (TCO) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align category strategies with operational needs Monitor and manage supplier performance and relationships Analyze spend data to identify trends and areas for improvement Prepare and present reports on category performance and initiatives Requirements Grade 12 Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field Minimum of 5 years' experience in category management or procurement in the mining or industrial sector Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools Excellent negotiation and communication skills Proven ability to manage supplier relationships effectively Experience leading and developing teams Strong organizational and project management skills Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Computer Proficiency Proficient in MS Office Suite: Word (basic), Excel (advanced), PowerPoint (intermediate), and JD Edwards (basic).
Communication Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Relationship Building Skilled at establishing and maintaining relationships with employees, clients, management, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Project Management Competent in managing and coordinating projects involving internal and external parties; experienced in project coordination, planning, budget control, and cost management.
Analytical Skills Proficient in analyzing data, verifying information, and identifying recommendations to support BI (Business Intelligence) opportunities.
Technical Knowledge In-depth knowledge of engineering, production processes, and mining operating principles; effectively applies relevant skills and procedures to all technical aspects of the job.
