Surrounded by the historic collections in the Beaney and Roman Museums, and inspired by the range of cultural programming and activities that take place throughout the service, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering effective communications and promotional strategies to attract visitors and develop new audiences.

Interview date: 01/02/2018 Job Description: The Royal Armouries cares for one of the world's oldest museum collections, housed at the Victorian Fort Nelson near Portsmouth in Hampshire, its historic home at the Tower of London, and its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds.
We're looking for a keen, committed educator to join our Education Team at Fort Nelson as we develop new, exciting programmes to enrich and grow our formal learning audiences. In this post you will deliver handling workshops, storytelling sessions and demonstrations for schools and other learners that bring our national, iconic and unique collection of arms and armour to life. You will also develop your own skills and experience in a team that combines academic rigour with creative flair, and serious-mindedness with a sense of fun. The successful candidate will be a good communicator, will ideally have some experience of delivering programmes for learning audiences, and will be an enthusiastic learner too!
This is a full-time temporary post for one year, with a possibility of extension, working 37.5 hours per week 5[days out of 7]. The days worked will usually be Monday to Friday.
Weekend bank holiday and evening working may occasionally be required.
