Position Overview:The Advertising Analyst is involved in analysing data, identifying trends, creating forecasting models and providing insights to maximise the effectiveness of advertising efforts. This person will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales and Key Accounts Teams, and Campaign Management Teams to drive the advertising objectives of the business.
The position reports to the Marketplace Manager. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic & market analysis of the online advertising sector in South AfricaAnalysis of the performance of Advertising assets and creating reports that inform decision making in the businessAssisting the Advertising team in building Advertising budgets; forecasts and sales team targetsBuilding insights into trends and opportunities within Mr D's Advertising businessPerforming ad hoc analysis to support the Sales and Key Accounts Teams; Product Team and Campaign Management TeamsSupport key client meetings with data-driven insightsTurning business questions into functional analyses to test theories.Conduct analytical support (Analysis requests for advertising and related teams) to generate valuable insight in understanding campaigns and performancePrepare and automate reports for analysisAssist with data project automationWork on forecast model improvementsBudget / Plan assistanceAttributes required: Analytical and critical thinking, using data to inform decisionsLogical individual, motivated by building workable solutionsAbility to disaggregate and structure solutions to ambiguous problemsSolutions-oriented, can-do attitude, self-motivatedStrong prioritisation skills and exceptional attention to detailAbility to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Management.Strong aptitude to learn new systemsExcellent communication and presentation skills and ability to weave a coherent, compelling narrative around the available data.Self-guided learner, self-starter, and curious and passionate about data.
