Mortgage (Bond) Coordinator / Administrator

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mortgage/Bond Coordinator to join our UK-based team, working remotely from Cape Town, South Africa.
In this role, you will manage the administration of UK mortgage bonds while working from South Africa.
You will be responsible for overseeing the mortgage application process, ensuring smooth communication between clients, lenders, and other key stakeholders.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform well under tight deadlines.
While there will be a learning curve, candidates with experience in South African Bond Origination will find the transition smoother, supported by training.
Key Responsibilities: Act as the primary contact for clients throughout the mortgage process.Clearly explain required documentation, timelines, and processes to clients.Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and provide regular updates on application progress.Collect, review, and organize required client documents (e.g., income statements, tax returns, credit reports, property info).Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and meets regulatory standards.Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for easy tracking.Submit mortgage applications to lenders and obtain pre-approvals.Follow up with lenders to monitor application status, resolve issues, and speed up approvals.Work closely with lenders to secure the best possible mortgage terms and rates for clients.Schedule property appraisals, inspections, and other necessary assessments.Facilitate communication between clients, real estate agents, attorneys, and other transaction parties.Ensure timelines are met and transaction milestones are achieved.Adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices in mortgage processing.Conduct quality checks on applications and client documentation to avoid errors.Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality and integrity.Stay updated on changes in mortgage regulations, policies, and procedures.Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and the client experience.Provide feedback on system improvements or workflow adjustments.Requirements: Tertiary qualification in finance, business administration, property, or a related field (preferred).Prior experience in mortgage processing, loan coordination, or a similar role within a brokerage environment.Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending criteria, and industry regulations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional client and stakeholder interactions.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage processing software.Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
