Main purpose of the job:To assist with monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions of the projectTo ensure that all monitoring and evaluation strategies are implemented to maximise the collection of good quality of dataAssist in strengthen the M&E capacity of relevant stakeholder staffLocation:PHRU - Cape Town (Position will be placed in surrounding area of Cape Town) Key performance areas:Perform regular field visits to ensure the quality of data collected by partners (sub-grantees) and to verify the accuracy of reported dataReport on project outputs to Project Manager and senior managementIdentify strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection systems and propose solutions along with Study CoordinatorAssist Project Manager in preparation of data for analysisParticipate in project meetings as necessaryAssist in development and implementation of M&E capacity building programmes for project staff to enhance understanding and use of effective M&E tools and systemsFacilitate M&E skills transfer from project to stakeholder staffConduct data quality check and quality assurance to ensure data validity and reliabilityEnsure data handling principles are applied timeously in order to submit accurate data for analysis, to develop reportsProvide support to sub grantee staffConduct assigned activities in support of the research studyTake ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrate effective self-managementFollow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintainedMaintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedbackTake ownership for driving own career development by participating in ongoing training and development activities such as forums, conferences, policy setting workshops, etc.Required minimum education and training:Bachelor's Degree in Science or Health Science discipline or equivalent Computer literacy Data Management Good Clinical Practice Certificate Valid driver's license and able to drive a manual vehicleRequired minimum work experience:At least 2 years' experience in implementation and application of M&E systems Data quality verification and controlDesirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:High attention to detailExperience working with donor driven programmes in the South African contextAbility to multi-task and to work in a complex and demanding environmentExperience in training and capacity buildingAble to work independently and as part of a multi – disciplinary teamAdaptable, willingly to take initiativeStrong organization skills and excellent communication skillsCommunicate effectively with the Senior Management team, subordinates, and support staff as well as with all external stakeholders e.g.
