ProSidian Seeks a Mining Industry Technical Expert / Consultant [541690 Contract Contingent] located in Cape Town South Africa to support an engagement for U.S. Govt. International Technical Assistance Program (ITAP) providing assistance on technical, regulatory, environmental, and financial management for national development on a range of energy and non-energy resources. Key Areas of Focus: 1) policy, legal, and regulatory reform; 2) technical, operational, and economic analysis; 3) financial mechanisms and market creation; 4) economic mgmt., transparency and fiscal policy; 5) environmental impacts and social and community issues related to resource development.
Candidates shall work to support requirements as a Mining Industry Technical Expert / Consultant and provide industry technical expertise, experience, training, and support with Energy, Extractives, and Renewable Energy concerns such as financing and development of projects involving the Mining Industry exploration, extraction, processing, transportation, and sale. Candidates will advise and assist businesses and individuals involved in the Mining Industry on an array of legal and business issues that range from day-to-day personnel and operating concerns to complex regulation and litigation matters.
Help beneficiary stakeholders and clients analyze Mining Industry policy related to leases and related agreements.Provide Mining Industry policy advice, assistance, training, and support on a full range of Mining Industry legal matters.Provide Mining Industry policy guidance on real estate, land use approvals, and siting issues.Provide Mining Industry policy technical expertise for asset development efforts.Provide Mining Industry policy technical expertise for management on regulatory issues.Provide Mining Industry policy technical expertise for managing negotiations with royalty owners and contractors/suppliers.Provide Mining Industry policy technical expertise for environmental and safety regulations.Provide Mining Industry policy technical expertise for negotiating and drafting agreements.Help beneficiary stakeholders involved in several subsectors of the Mining Industry.Responsibilities to support teams of Mining Industry experts.The Mining Industry Technical Expert / Consultant shall have a minimum of Ten (10) years of consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
Validation of "Recognized Degree" from a top-tier school and experience working for a firm recognized in the country of focus.Ideal candidates will have a proven track record strategizing and implementing policy advocacy campaigns.Experience in Petroleum Engineering; Mining Industry Operations; Safety; Mining Industry Regulations and Compliance.Minimum five years' experience in the corporate, public, consulting, academic or non-profit sectors.Previous regulatory and policy experience working on Mining Industry issues is strongly preferred.Excellent written and oral communication skills.As a condition of employment, all employees are required to fulfill all requirements of the roles for which they are employed; establish, manage, pursue, and fulfill annual goals and objectives.
