International Technical Assistance Program (ITAP) providing assistance on technical, regulatory, environmental, and financial management for national development on a range of energy and non-energy resources.Key Areas of Focus:Policy, legal, and regulatory reform;Technical, operational, and economic analysis;Financial mechanisms and market creation;Economic management, transparency and fiscal policy;Environmental impacts and social and community issues related to resource development.ProSidian provides technical assistance and training related to four Capacity Challenges:Technical understanding of resources and new extractive technologies / techniques;Financial management of revenues from the sector;Legal best practices for international laws and regulations;Environmental protections for people and environment from sector impacts.Typical country stakeholders include: Govt. officials (national, municipal, regional and village levels); Legislators; national, state, and local regulators; communities (including vulnerable groups).ResponsibilitiesAdvise, train, and provide technical assistance to stakeholders across the entire spectrum of issues faced in operating and growing base and precious metal, industrial mineral and coal mines, both on the surface and underground.Assist with the full range of needs when permitting mines to the environmental review process and collaborate with technical consultants.Advise and assist stakeholders with land use and permitting, environmental and safety compliance and defense, mine safety, corporate and transaction services, governance, and risk management.Help stakeholders understand the regulatory framework affecting the mining industry.Counsel policymakers and decision-makers on mine safety and requirements for occupational health and safety.Assist stakeholders in negotiating and drafting agreements for mining transactions.Provide advice on in-depth environmental due diligence, title review, permitting, and specific details regarding mineral, surface access, and water use rights.Support due diligence reviews for potential purchasers of various mine operations.Provide advice, technical support, and training regarding local mining industry issues.QualificationsMinimum of Ten (10) years of consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years.
