Purpose of Job The Mine Planner (Imp) is responsible for creating, compiling, and monitoring short, medium, and long-term production, stonework, and infrastructure deployment plans for the colliery.
This role ensures that the colliery operates according to the integrated business plan, with an emphasis on strategic planning, budget management, and future execution.
Key Accountabilities Strategic and Budget Planning : Perform annual strategic and budget optimal planning for production, stonework, and infrastructure, utilizing dedicated mine planning software.
Ensure plans align with geological information, mining restrictions, and performance targets.
Production and Stonework Forecasting : Maintain a rolling 24-month forecast for production and stonework.
Plan activities within work block schedules to predict future production based on ground conditions and capacity assurance.
Asset Management : Annually assess mineable reserves and update the water model for the colliery to ensure proper management of dirty water underground.
Compliance : Ensure adherence to all relevant mining rights, environmental, water, and survey requirements, and comply with the colliery's license to operate.
Reporting and Presentations : Support the colliery in meeting targets by preparing and presenting mine planning reports and attending relevant meetings.
Requirements Required Qualifications and Experience Formal Education : Grade 12 Mining-related Diploma or B Tech Mine Overseer Certificate (preferred) Experience : At least 6 years of relevant experience in mine planning.
Required Skills Communication : Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Action Planning & Organization : Skilled in action planning, organizing tasks, and adhering to policies and procedures.
Data Analysis : Proficient in data collection, analysis, and applying findings to improve planning and operations.
Resourcefulness & Adaptability : Ability to manage complexity and adapt to various situations to meet objectives.
