We have an exciting opportunity for a Mine Operations Planning Engineer (Sishen & Kolomela). The purpose of this role is to create a three-month mine plan that aligns with the 12-month budget for the upcoming week's planning horizon.

Job Description
As our Mine Operations Planning Engineer (Sishen & Kolomela), your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Safety, Health, and Environment
Consistently apply safety and health principles in all site interactions.
Identify specific risks within the working area and adhere to discipline-specific plans/systems to avoid these risks.
Ensure mining plans and designs adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards.
Performance and Delivery
Meet mining objectives by ensuring all planning systems are up to date and aligned with the 12-month plan.
Ensure the 3-month mine plan has sufficient detail to construct weekly plans for loading and hauling, drilling and blasting.
Adjust plans according to operating conditions, rain forecast, geological deviations, and plant needs.
Construct terms of reference to specify inputs into monthly plans.
Identify and recommend opportunities to improve the short-term planning processes.
Create plans following the Mine Health and Safety Act that are within budget.
Review the plan design with mine production to ensure compliance with longer-term plans.
The Work: Key Outputs and Accountabilities
Partake in reconciliation processes by releasing quality plans.
Ensure that infrastructure planning is aligned with shorter-term plans.
Attend pit visits and necessary meetings to align operations with the 3-month plan.
Implement the Anglo Operating Model in Operational Mine Planning.
Data Management and Validation
Analyse & ensure that the generated output path is aligned with the inputs provided.
Consider the impacts of operational challenges on output rates.
QAQC
Manage change requests and their alignment with Master Survey Layout.
Ad-Hoc Projects
Support the section Manager Mine Planning to evaluate Ad-hoc projects and new technology.
Qualifications
National Diploma in Mining Engineering
BTech/BSc/BEng (Advantageous)
SA Drivers Licence
Technical Knowledge
Specialized knowledge in Mining Engineering, including mineral extraction and mine design.
Familiarity with relevant legislation, such as MHSA.
Proficiency in project management and planning/scheduling.
Understanding of financial metrics and budgeting tools.
Knowledge of risk management techniques and compliance standards.
Proficiency in mine scheduling software, such as OPMS, Deswik, Xecure, and MicroStation.
