Job Description Vacancy: Mine Manager (Grade: EL) Reference Number : MIN/313/24 Location : Two Rivers Platinum Closing Date : 17 January 2025 Purpose of the Job To lead the mining team in cost-effective ore body extraction while ensuring compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act , Minerals Act , and associated regulations as a 3.1(a) appointee.
Key Responsibilities Health and Safety Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and Minerals Act.
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for employees and contractors.
Manage risk identification and implement health and safety policies.
Provide adequate safety equipment and training.
Maintain hazard identification and medical monitoring records.
Operational Management Oversee daily mine operations to ensure efficient production.
Manage both short-term ( Tactical Plan ) and long-term ( Strategic Plan ) goals.
Compile mining budgets and manage capital projects, including contracts.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual mining reports.
Ensure employees are trained and authorized for their roles.
Leadership and Compliance Ensure proper discipline at the mine.
Influence and build strong networks within the organization.
Communicate effectively to align teams with organizational objectives.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 Certificate .
Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency .
A Mining Engineering Degree/Diploma (advantageous).
Minimum Experience 10+ years of experience in underground mining with diverse team management.
5+ years of managerial experience.
Trackless mining experience (advantageous).
Competencies and Skills Strong computer skills, including knowledge of mine planning and scheduling software.
Critical thinking and problem-solving.
Business acumen and budget management.
Planning, organizing, and effective communication.
Leadership agility and the ability to influence outcomes.
