Our client is looking for a highly experienced Mine Manager to oversee operations at a leading gold mine. This is a critical role requiring extensive knowledge of gold mining processes, safety regulations, and leadership in managing large teams. The ideal candidate will drive productivity and ensure the mine's long-term sustainability and profitability while adhering to environmental and safety standards. Responsibilities: Lead all operations of the gold mine, ensuring efficient and sustainable production processes. Develop and implement mining plans, schedules, and budgets to achieve production targets. Oversee health, safety, and environmental management, ensuring strict compliance with all regulations and industry standards. Manage the mine's workforce, providing leadership and support to department heads, engineers, and technical staff. Monitor and optimize the performance of equipment and processes to maximize gold extraction and minimize costs. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, including permits and reporting obligations related to mining operations. Collaborate with geological and metallurgical teams to improve resource extraction and manage ore reserves. Implement continuous improvement strategies to increase productivity and reduce operational risks. Lead audits and reviews of safety, environmental, and operational procedures, ensuring the mine operates at peak performance. Report to senior management on the mines financial performance, production progress, and risk management strategies. Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control. Must be 40 years of age or older due to the leadership and experience required for the role.
