As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic mine planning, developing comprehensive business plans, and ensuring their successful execution.
Your focus will be on aligning all mining operations with the company's vision, mission, and values to achieve long-term organizational objectives and generate sustainable shareholder value.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of strategic mine plans that support the company's vision of establishing a world-class copper mine in the DRC.Business Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive business plans that align with the company's goals and drive operational efficiency.Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of mining operations, including engineering, technical, training, administration, and safety teams.Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of senior managers to ensure effective collaboration and performance.Safety and Compliance: Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.Qualifications and Experience:Responsibilities including, but not limited to:- Lead and direct the business unit- Deliver production targets in line with organizational strategy- Mitigate risk and prepare contingency plans- Drive the development and implementation of integrated corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics frameworks throughout the business- Manage and lead a division that builds people, values difference and creates an inclusive work environment- Establish and oversee the budget that enables achievement of strategic intent of the business- Monitor financial integrity of the business area and proactively deal with financial challenges- Create shareholder value- Champion transformation in terms of people, automation and sustainability and enable timely and robust change management to underpin initiatives- Champion and drive HSE as a key aspect of organisational culture- Establish and drive reporting best practices- Monitor, audit and report on adherence to safety program, policies and procedures Requirements- Professional Qualification in Mining Engineering -degree or diploma.- Preferred qualifications would be Mining degree plus Business Qualification, Mine Managers certificate.- 15 Years in a Mining and Operations related environment.- At least 3 - 5 years experience in running a mine [end-to-end].- Preferably grown through the ranks within the mining environment.- Experience across different mining environments / commodities / methodologies.- Business knowledge / acumen; Business Management in a mining environment.- Experience of the various facets [end-to-end] of mining.- Corporate Governance principles.- Mining related Finance and Accounting, global SHEQ standards- English required, French an assetThis is a FIFO expat role.If you are a dynamic and results-oriented Mine Manager with a passion for driving operational excellence, we encourage you to apply.
