A big food manufacturer situated in Stikland is seeking a qualified Millwright who has at least 5 years experience in a food manufacturing/FMCG experience in the electrical/mechanical field.
The ideal artisan will have a sense of urgency on the job with a good understanding of multiple machines and workings hydraulics, pneumatics, AC drives, sensors, and PLC control.
The candidate must be able to relate to electrical schematics to assist in fault-finding tasks when needed.
The plant works with compressed air, boilers, refrigeration, water, and normal electrical distribution. Understanding all of these and mastering them will be an advantage.
This makes up the candidate that we need to be an artisan.
The senior artisan (Millwright) will be hands-on and manage a small group of artisans in this environment, handling job cards and delegating work based on priority breakdowns on daily and weekly scheduled maintenance (Small Group - Fitter and apprentice, with refrigeration person backup).
The senior artisan will be coaching the team on all subject matter that makes him the senior/master in following up on work done.
All actions revolve around a plant that is producing product on a 24-hour priority.
Education/Experience:
Grade 12
Red Seal Trade Test/Diploma
Minimum 8 years experience in a food manufacturing, FMCG, production environment as a Millwright
Essential Skills, Behaviour & Knowledge Required:
Ensure maximum machine availability through effective repairs & maintenance on all factory equipment.
Ensure that all job cards and scheduled maintenance are completed as per DMS.
Supervise effective utilization of machinery and report to line supervision and production management on non-conformances and deviations.
Report requirements for critical spares and equipment to Maintenance Foreman/Manager.
New works and installation.
Housekeeping (ensure all work is carried out as per food safety requirements/workshop to comply with food safety standards).
Health & Safety.
Upgrading of mechanical reticulation in the factory.
Diagnose all mechanical faults and repair or replace as required.
Attend to breakdowns.
Mechanical supply to new equipment.
Reading of mechanical diagrams in EU and SANS formats.
Monitor condition of mechanical installations.
Ability to perform call outs.
Ensure that maintenance machinery is in acceptable and safe working condition.
Complete daily job cards and other routine paperwork as required.
Ability to design and draw simple hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.

Pay: Up to R52000,00 per month
