IntroductionReporting to the Operations Manager within the Energy Management department, the primary purpose of this role will be the hands-on servicing of boiler house and equipment, checking boiler controls, optimizing boiler efficiencies, planned maintenance, and ensuring legal compliance of boiler plants, i.e., Coal, Biofuel, Heavy and Light Fuel Oil, Gas, and Electrically powered boilers. Supervise the onsite boiler operating teams in performing their day-to-day duties, meeting safe operating procedures and boiler and equipment efficiencies. The successful candidates should be diligent, good communicators and willing to travel and work after hours.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Planned and break down maintenance (Electrical and mechanical).Ensure all site work is done safely and as per company procedure (ensure that all paperwork is in order before work commences).Stand-by and call out duties (operate boiler, boiler setup and breakdowns).Installation of equipment and commissioning thereof, boilers, burners, and auxiliary equipment.Supervise and manage all site work with teams being hands-on in the field and office.Supervise and control site personnel in the day-to-day operations and duties of the boiler house.Communicate with the client and management suggesting repairs and site improvements.Ensure risk assessments and data packs are completed and up to date.Follow up on orders and have site orders signed off for maintenance purposes.Desired Experience & QualificationQUALIFICATIONS
Millwright, Electrical or Instrumentation Electrician with a trade certificate and a strong mechanical ability.An unendorsed driver's license.Certified gas practitioner's license will be advantageous.EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five years' experience in a maintenance and repair environment covering electrical and mechanical work, PLC controls and programming, fault finding and commissioning, general maintenance.A strong ability to supervise staff, read drawings, technical diagrams, and develop basic wiring diagrams.Computer literacy in MS Office, emails, Excel, and SharePoint.Boiler servicing and commissioning will be advantageous.Experience in management of projects.
