We are now looking for a Millwright to be based in Mossel Bay Factory.In this role you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and improving both electrical and mechanical equipment.
Ensure efficient, safe operation of machinery by setting and adjusting devices to within allowed tolerances.A day in the life of a Millwright:Complete the necessary administrative tasks for AMM, SHE, CDM, and MDWT.Interact with production, suppliers, and contracting staff.Coaching and mentoring of technical operators and apprentices.Carry out the planned maintenance required on plant.Be proactive and prevent breakdowns on patrols; show initiative to continuously improve equipment performance – condition-based maintenance.Ensure that all work is performed in a safe and environmentally conscientious manner.In both electrical and mechanical disciplines, install, service, repair, and maintain existing and new equipment.Attend to electrical and mechanical faults/breakdowns within the factory.Basic troubleshooting on PLCs and SCADA systems.Programming and faultfinding on VSDs and soft starters.Programming and faultfinding on defined instrumentation and calibration.Root cause analysis of repetitive faults; implement corrective measures.Steer 'Continuous Improvement' teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.Maintain a high standard of work.Ensure machine availability for production targets to be met.Undertake to work shifts, standby, and overtime as per company requirements.Ensure electrical panels are closed, always locked, and kept in a neat and clean condition, complete with a set of as-built wiring diagrams.Always adhere to Safe Working Permit procedures (e.g., confined space, working at height, hot work, LOTO, etc.
).Ensure any dangerous conditions are made safe immediately.Ensure that during all work performed, food safety is never compromised.Correct errors on electrical and mechanical drawings and update accordingly.Align goals to achieve NCE objectives.What will make you successful?Basic working knowledge of PLCs.2 years' experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
Preferably have a Certificate of Registration as an 'Installation Electrician'.Served Apprenticeship and qualified as a Millwright.Trade Test Certificate (Electromechanician).Leadership skills and facilitation skills in leading team meetings.Multi-skilled in all mechanical, electrical, and specified instrument disciplines.Ability to work independently and under pressure.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.In-depth knowledge of maintenance practices.
