We are now looking for a Millwright to be based in Harrismith Factory.The Millwright will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and improving both electrical and mechanical equipment. Ensure efficient, safe operation of machinery by setting and adjusting devices to within allowed tolerances.A day in the life of a Millwright:Complete the necessary administrative tasks for AMM, SHE, CDM, and MDWT.Interact with production, suppliers, and contracting staff.Coach and mentor technical operators and apprentices.Carry out the planned maintenance required on plant.Be proactive and prevent breakdowns during patrols and show initiative to continuously improve equipment performance – condition-based maintenance.In both electrical and mechanical disciplines, install, service, repair, and maintain existing and new equipment.Attend to electrical and mechanical faults/breakdowns within the factory.Perform basic troubleshooting on PLCs and SCADA systems.Program and fault-find on VSDs and soft starters.Program and fault-find on defined instrumentation and calibration.Conduct root cause analysis of repetitive faults and implement corrective measures.Steer 'Continuous Improvement' teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.Maintain a high standard of work.Ensure machine availability for production targets to be met.Work shifts, standby, and overtime as per company requirements.Ensure electrical panels are closed, locked, and kept in a neat and clean condition complete with a set of built wiring diagrams.Adhere to Safe Working Permit procedures at all times (e.g., confined space, working at height, hot work, LOTO, etc.).Ensure any dangerous conditions are made safe immediately.Ensure that during all work performed, food safety is never compromised.Correct errors on electrical and mechanical drawings and update accordingly.Align goals to achieve NCE objectives.What will make you successful?Millwright Trade Test CertificateBasic working knowledge of PLCs3-5 years' experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.Preferably have a certificate of registration as an Installation Electrician.Served Apprenticeship and qualified with a Millwright Trade Test Certificate (Electro Mechanician).
