Millwright

Sappi Southern Africa is looking for a qualified and experienced Millwright to carry out first-line breakdown maintenance on a shift basis, with a focus on optimising production and reducing plant downtime. This role reports to the Millwright Superintendent.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns across the mill.Perform mechanical repairs and replacements on equipment such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, fans, bearings, and other machinery.Overhaul mechanical systems, including replacing seals and bearings.Align rotating equipment and manage rigging tasks (up to 1 ton).Perform basic arc welding on low-pressure pipes and carry out flame cutting on bolts, flanges, etc.Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, control circuits, and PLCs, making necessary repairs.Rewire damaged electrical components and replace electric motors and driven machinery.Use SAP to log maintenance notifications, order spare parts, and assist with the commissioning of new or repaired equipment.Qualifications and Experience:NQF Level 4 Qualification (Grade 12 / N3 Engineering) and a Millwright Trade Test certification.A minimum of 2 years' post-trade test experience as a Millwright in a heavy industrial environment.If you meet the above requirements and are looking for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic industrial setting, we encourage you to apply.ABOUT SAPPISappi is a leading global provider of everyday materials made from woodfibre-based renewable resources.
