About the Role:The Millwright will be responsible for carrying out repairs, maintenance, and operations in a food manufacturing environment and performing troubleshooting tasks on plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:Ensure planned maintenance is carried out within BOPEnsure unit standards are metExecute planned and unplanned maintenance activitiesProvide continuous process support to the teamTroubleshoot and rectify faults occurring due to the failure of mechanical equipmentContinuously monitor the working environment responsible area and identify/report any abnormalitiesPlant and equipment inspection and defect reportingInstallation of equipmentPhysically monitor and control the production processExamine equipment and complete safety checklistReport all at-risk behaviors and unsafe conditions to the line managerComply with all OSH ACT requirementsConduct visual inspections on the process and equipmentInstall, service, and repair lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, and wiringOperate power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipmentInstall, repair, and service specialized electrical equipment and machineryInstall conductors, splices cable, builds terminations, and does necessary hook-up for primary power linesInspect electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending preventive maintenanceInstall electrical system components, such as lighting, alarms, electrical panels, switches, circuits, timers, etc., for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded electrical capabilitiesQualifications, Skills & Experience:A minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in the Food or FMCG industryMatric and Trade TestPhysically ableTake instructions / communicate in EnglishWilling to make a contribution as a member of the operations teamEssential services like boilers/compressors/air conditioningPreferred: A minimum of 3 years' experience in the maintenance of gearboxes, conveyors, and food processing equipmentA minimum of 3 years' experience in the electrical fieldLeadership:Desire to lead, influence, and coach othersGood team playerStrong work ethic; self-starter; results orientedGood ability to plan and anticipateAbility to work in an operational/functional matrix organizationGood communication and relationship-building skillsService:Analytical skillsInterpersonal skillsSelf-drivenSystematic and methodicalCommunication:Communication – written & oral/ability to communicate complex ideas conciselyProblem Solving/Decision Making:Analytical & Interpretation skillsDecision making & judgmentProblem Solving - enquiring mind, lateral thinking
