Job Description In this role, you will form part of the Mass Foundation Cluster which is one of the largest customer-facing business segments in Old Mutual. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end Operations value chain in the Foundation Market business, in line with strategic business objectives. It drives the operational and tactical management of a team of senior specialist staff in an administrative or operational business. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through other managers and their teams (manages service delivery through layers), over periods of 3 months to 1 year.
This role forms a critical part of the FM Management Committee – reports to Head of Business. The incumbent will be required to ensure that the FM Operations function works in alignment with the overall FM business plans and objectives. Participate in the implementation of long- and short-term business strategies. Makes major operational decisions within business plan. Manages the end-to-end FM Operations value chain. Accountable for the development and execution of strategic and tactical business plans for the FM Operations function. Owns operational efficiency and quality including an Operations balance scorecard incorporating finance, people, process and customer dimensions of the business. Effectively manages operations and processes associated with the policy administration activities; to be an enabler for business generation. Manages the day-to-day work of the FM Operations function to ensure that it achieves its mandates with the highest possible performance standards. Establishes and maintains performance standards and ensure timely and adequate reporting thereof. Maintains an appropriate level of customer service. Responsible for proposing and implementing cost effective solutions for the efficient and effective operations of the FM Operations function. Manages the effective implementation of new technologies and the utilisation of existing systems. Responsible for the operational and tactical management of a team of managers / senior specialist staff in an admin or operational business (direct and indirect reports). Performs all necessary staff management functions to support FM Business profit, growth and expense management goals. Contributes to projects impacting on the FM business deliverables. Establishes and maintains effective relationships through on-going dialogue with stakeholders across the business value chain. Responsible to craft the SASSA service support model which supports the Foundation Retail Market Channel, the Broker channel and Two Mountains FMR field, and potentially future brokers like Two Mountains. Execute on the value chain. Requirements: Tertiary qualification (Commerce). 5-10 years Line management experience. Experience in the Group Insurance industry is preferable. Good understanding of Insurance regulation. Skills Education Bachelors Degree (B)
