Well established manufacturing company are looking for a qualified and experienced Metrologist applicant to join their Quality Department who will be responsible for fulfilling the requirements and duties of the Metrology Room.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:Create Measuring Programs for measurement of new and existing wheelsProvide effective feedback to all relevant departments, if dimensional deviations or defects identifiedPrepare APQP/PPAP/ISIR documentation according to Customer requirementsParticipate in Problem solving activities, FMEA/Control Plan Meetings (Part of APQP)Conduct Routine testing and Product auditsTake the lead on Gauging designs, approval and also creating work instructions thereofCalibration – Maintain calibration status of all existing gauges and instruments – inclusive of physical verification of instruments in accordance with works instructions, as well as all relevant documentation.
Manage external calibration processes.Draft and follow MSA Plan relative to required R&R studiesConduct Capability studies/ad-hoc measurements as part of investigations; lead investigations into wheels not meeting requirementsDocumentation and record – Maintain relevant filing systems (including drawings and measuring reports, registers and issue levels).QUALIFICATIONS:National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in QualityMinimum Grade 12 with Maths and ScienceCertificate in CMM Measuring/3D ScanningQuality specific training in VDA6.3, IATF16949, Core Tools and CSR'sWORK EXPERIENCE:Minimum 5 years experience in a factory environmentUnderstanding and utilization of PC-DMIS CMM SoftwareShould have thorough knowledge of the entire plant processesThorough knowledge of SA Quality StandardsExperience with SPC/MSA/APQP/8D conceptsOTHER REQUIREMENTS Understand CMM Measuring equipmentThorough knowledge of Sampling processAbility to interpret technical drawingsAbility to work under pressure, lead a team and be a team-playerAbility to be pro-active, good time management skillsHonest, have integrity and good communication skillsExcellent attendance recordComputer literacy is essential (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, MiniTab, 3D Scanning)Must have a valid Drivers Licence (own transport preferable) Should you wish to apply please email your CV through to Erin Bentz at ****** shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
