RPO Recruitment is excited to announce an opening for a Metallurgist in the Mining Industry located in Northern Cape (NC).
This role involves applying scientific and engineering principles to optimize metallurgical processes, and contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of mining operations.
As a Metallurgist, you will be expected to conduct detailed analyses of metallurgical processes, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and drive improvements that enhance productivity while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities Conduct metallurgical testing, analysis, and reporting, including the evaluation of ore samples.
Monitor and optimize the efficiency of metallurgical operations, ensuring they meet production and quality targets.
Implement process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs and improving yield.
Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Document and report on metallurgical performance metrics, providing actionable insights for management.
Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance operational capability.
Provide training and support to operational teams on metallurgical processes.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in metallurgical roles within the mining industry.
2 years' experience in a senior management work environment.
Floatation experience and knowledge Proven expertise in PGM flotation and Chrome recovery processes.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the mining sector.
Valid driver's license and preferably own transport.
