National Retailer - Retail / Merchandising PlannerNational Retailer invites applications for Retail / Merchandising Planners, based in Durban North.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPartnered with the buyer to achieve a product strategy to gain maximum profitability.Manage alongside the buyer your given OTB.Analyze your product category sales weekly.Create product orders.Liaise with suppliers regarding new products and ordering of stock.Develop product strategy with the buyer to ensure targets are met.Identify new products in the industry and compile a costing for these products taking all cost sectors into account.Liaise with the shipping department closely to ensure shipments are received on time and to avoid any delays.Liaise with the warehouse departments to ensure that goods are received and there is an efficient flow of goods into and out of the warehouse into our stores in a timely manner.Review slow-moving stock and develop sales strategies.Extract & analyze financial KPIs & product performance against set plans by sub-department season, category & sub-category.Compile a draft report highlighting all issues that have impacted performance.Lead a discussion to develop an action plan that will maximize sales.Achieve product strategy plans to gain maximum profitability.Strategic management of stock within a portfolio while producing accurate figures for analysis.Review and analyze the work produced.Responsible for controlling the budget and managing the supply chain to timely and correctly deliver stock.Responsible for achieving 55% of Division Sales.Forecasting of Yearly Sales.Forecasting Quarterly of Product buys.Analysis of product category past sales as well as current market and customer profile to assist in future buying decisions.Build the initial assortment plan.Review product orders.Liaise with suppliers regarding new products and ordering of stock.Develop product strategy with the Buyer to ensure targets are met.Identify new products in the industry and compile a costing for those products taking all cost sectors into account.Review slow-moving stock and develop sales strategies.Liaise with the Area Managers regarding updates of products and solutions to general queries.Send out monthly stock cover and store performance reports to the product and operations team.Conduct Store Visits to review store performances as well as to ensure that merchandise is being displayed correctly.Reporting on new and existing stores to track performance and sales.Desired Experience & Qualification3 - 5 years solid merchandise planning experience in retail.Strong analytical and financial skills.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).Ability to handle pressure and multiple deadlines.Living in Durban.Own car and driver's license.Package & RemunerationNegotiable CTC.
