Merchandise Planner - Leisure Footwear

An opportunity has become available for a confident, energetic and resilient Merchandise Planner for Cape Union Mart Leisure Footwear. The candidate must be able to think laterally and have strong analytical, logical reasoning and numerical abilities.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to align with the company vision, be self-motivated and actively involved in overseeing the end-to-end process in the applicable area of responsibility. In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.
Duties: Achieve turnover, gross profit and stockturn budgets and related KPI'sDeliver and implement post seasonal analysis, strategic planning, range & assortment planningAccurately and continuously budgeting and forecasting in order to achieve sales plan and maximize profitabilityAccurately and continuously forecasting inflows to achieve sales plans, departmental growth and profitabilityExecuting and managing project plans to achieve the agreed objectivesSupporting and guiding team members with regards to efficient administration as well as the accurate allocation of stock to ensure that the right stock gets to the right store by the right timePrioritise online and omni-channel stock levelsLiaising with stores, suppliers, customers, shipping and marketingUse KPI's to drive buying and marketing decisionsEfficient management of aged and dead stockRequirements : Minimum 2 years working experience as a Retail/Merchandise/Product Planner, in a portfolio dealing with size complexityMatric with a relevant tertiary qualificationAdvanced excel experience is essentialExperience with merchandise planning and reporting systemsExperience using automated replenishment systemsPassionate about people with leadership aspirationsExcellent English written & verbal communication skillsSound numerical, analytical thinking & logical problem-solving skillsStrong team playerStrong planning, organizing, administrating and coordinating skillsAbility to work independentlyMethodical, detail-orientated and accurateDeadline and outcomes-focusedProactive, innovative, passionate, committed, self-motivated, driven and trustworthyResilient and tenacious in a fast-paced and ever-changing environmentAbility to resolve conflictAbility to build and maintain relationships with all levels of the organizationPlease note: The Cape Union Mart Group is committed to transformation.
