MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASDeliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team.Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing.
DESIRED EDUCATION: Midwifery; Postgraduate certificate/diploma in relevant specialty area.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year post-graduate qualification experience.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 3 years' post-graduate qualification experience.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEBasic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards).Develop/modify a nursing care plan.Infection prevention and control.Nursing processes and procedures.Pharmacology.Scientific nursing principles and processes.All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
