Requirements:Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a normal specialty. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a normal specialty and current registration with HPCSA for 2024/2025. A qualification in Public Health Medicine (MMED) or a Fellowship of the College of Public Health Medicine of South Africa.For Grade 1: 0-5 years' experience as Medical Specialist.Grade 2: 5-10 years' experience as Medical Specialist.Grade 3: 10-15 years' experience as Medical Specialist. This experience should be in terms of clinical service provision, teaching, and research.Essential knowledge and experience in hospital management, quality assurance, and clinical governance.An appropriate experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of health programmes is essential.Knowledge of the National Health Insurance Plan and an understanding of the Public Health Care System in SA.Knowledge in health measurement and informatics, and experience in using National Health Information databases e.g. WebDHIS, Child PIP, etc., will be an added advantage.Sound knowledge of the hospital service package and associated performance indicators thereof.Sound knowledge of the Norms and Standards, Ideal hospital framework, and data management.Skills required include technical report writing and professional judgement skills, data analysis and presentation skills, training and research skills, policy development and analysis, effective advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Software: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and other software applications.Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with management, colleagues, and individuals outside of the organization.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, good planning and organizing skills, project management, people development and management, decision making, interpersonal customer services, planning and organizing, and health programmes performance monitoring.A driver's license is essential (with the exception of people with disabilities).Duties:Provide technical/scientific data, information, and advice to the executive management team.Perform technical scientific analysis and regulatory functions.Preparation of data and routine analysis.Database and data management.Participation in executive management activities and various management forums within the hospital including the cluster.Ensure timeous development of the operational plans for the hospital and monitor the implementation and outcomes thereof.Ensure hospital plans are aligned to the Provincial and National strategic goals and objectives.Manage subordinates and control of assets for the sub-directorate.Oversee hospital data collection, collation, and ensure that internal and external reporting timelines are adhered to.Oversee Monitoring and Evaluation functions within the hospital; monitor performance and outcomes against the set targets and advise on mitigation measures.Ensure proper utilization of human, material, and financial resources and maintain updated records of resources.Ensure effective implementation of National Norms and Standards and Ideal hospital Realisation and Maintenance Framework.Support Health Information Unit and ensure audit preparedness.Support the implementation of AGSA recommendations and ensure implementation of the QIP's.Support planning specifically for tertiary services provided under NTSG and monitoring thereof in line with grant requirements.Management of surgical backlog and theatre efficiencies data.Support the implementation of patient databases including the rollout of the clinical module.Compile and manage the Clinical Risk Register.Support the Quality Assurance Department.Notes:Applications should be uploaded online at www.gautengonline.gov.za or http://professionaljobcentre.gpg.gov.za.
