Minimum Requirements:MBChBRegistration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)5 years experience within a clinical trials environment as a sub-investigator, which should include writing study protocolsExperience working on industry-sponsored trials (5-years or more)Must have produced academic outputs (at least two first author publications)Must demonstrate experience writing study-protocolsKeen interest in Research, Allergy and climate change-driven environmental changeGood Clinical Practice Certification (advantageous)Intermediate computer with proficiency in Microsoft Office or electronic Data Management systems, email, internetTravel locally and overseas for research-related meetings (at least 6x/year)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skillsAble to work autonomously and within a team Responsibilities include (but not limited to):Clinical management of study sites across SAProviding clinical services to patients enrolled onto the units clinical trials.Interface with non-unit clinical and trial staff and regulatory personnelTaking care of the patients during their active treatment and follow up periodProvide medical expertise to improve and enhance research nurse-related patient careEnsure fair and ethical treatment of all patients involved in clinical trialsEnsure proper maintenance of patient records, and data management including entry of data into electronic databaseEnsure that the study patient case record forms and clinical documentation meets good clinical practice standardsWriting and development of study protocols with regulatory and data teamsCollecting, compiling and analysis of patients data with statistician supportWriting of study academic outputs and grants reportsAdditional Information:12-month Fixed Term ContractWorking hours: 40 hours per week (negotiable), Monday to FridayOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
