Wolf Lake Services is seeking a highly qualified professional to join our team in support of the US Coast Guard (USCG) Multidiscipline Healthcare Services.
The primary focus of this position is to provide medical services to all eligible beneficiaries within the capabilities normally granted to a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT/CLS).
The MT/CLS shall meet or exceed the industry standards in accordance with established principles, practices, and ethics and shall reflect the degree and care, skill and learning expected of a reasonably prudent healthcare provider in the MT/CLS profession in the state of their practice.
This position is contingent upon award. Core Duties: Perform laboratory testing and evaluation including interpretation of tests in the areas of:
Hematology Urinalysis Other Clinic Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) Waived Tests Perform evaluation and interpretation of tests in the areas of:
Bacteriology Chemistry Special Chemistry Blood Bank Serology Ensure the establishment and maintenance of acceptable levels of analytical performance for each test system Fulfill the duties of a laboratory technical consultant for a moderately-complex laboratory as defined by CLIA Prepare, manage, and submit appropriate documentation testing related to CLIA Implement policies and procedures for monitoring individuals who conduct preanalytical, analytical, and postanalytical phases of testing to assure that they are competent and maintain their competency to process specimens, perform test procedures and report test results promptly and proficiently, and whenever necessary, identify needs for remedial training or continuing education to improve skills Maintain inventory, order, and restock medical laboratory supplies Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur Prepare and submit appropriate documentation as specified in applicable regulations Participate in the Quality Improvement (QI) program of the clinic Other administrative duties as may be assigned by the Clinic Administrator
