Job Description:The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Lab Technician performs in-vitro analysis of biologic specimens according to the procedures established for routine and specialized areas of the laboratory. The MLT/Lab Technician participates in the supportive functions of quality control, instrument operation, limited troubleshooting, teaching, and limited problem resolution.
Job QualificationsEducation: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent (i.e. military-trained - Medical Lab Specialist certificate of training obtained prior to April 24, 1995).
Experience: Current knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment expected. Previous laboratory experience is recommended. Experience with Laboratory Information Systems is beneficial.
Certifications/Licenses: Certification or eligibility for certification by a nationally-recognized certifying agency is required for this position, which must be maintained in good standing.
