Media Centre Assistant

The ADvTECH Schools Division leads the private sector in the field of education, contributing meaningfully towards the sustainable development of human capacity in South Africa.Responsibilities Ensure the media centre is neat and organised at all timesControl the organisation and management of library booksControl stock levels of media centre resources and booksControl the use of library books by pupilsEnsure that library books are covered and kept in good condition, including the repair of booksEnsure the safe storage and usage of media centre computersControl the use of media centre computers by pupilsResource and budget for media centre purchasesAssist students with finding resources, and the appropriate use of library booksPromotes the use of the school media centre and libraryWork in conjunction with school leadership and language departments to promote readingAssists with management and covering of school textbooks.Competencies/Skills/Requirements:Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues and pupilsEnergetic, self-motivated and able to use own initiative;Good organisational and administrative skills;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff and pupilsQualifications: Minimum requirement is a grade 12 Experience:     Working in a media centre/library as well as experience in a school environment
