Mechatronics Support Engineer

Due to expansion, our client is looking for a Mechatronic Support Engineer to fulfill the support and design needs for the organization. This position requires an experienced individual in both electrical, software, and mechanical fault finding to support their customer base. The software support function includes the interrogation of the PLC program and the front-end program.
Our client is looking for an individual to provide remote customer support to their clients in America, working from offices in Pietermaritzburg. The incumbent would need to be willing to relocate to the USA after the initial training in South Africa. Requirements: A proven track record of robotic, coding, or software development (a portfolio of actual projects will need to be available).Hands-on experience with electrical panel building, measurements, scope readings, fault finding, and commissioning.An Electronic Engineering qualification would be advantageous.Primary Objectives: Perform electrical designs, create and update electrical drawings in E-plan.Use electrical design and machine specification to update machine PLC code and machine front ends in Visual Basic and Unity.Provide online support with customer machines to perform fault finding.Offer remote assistance to commission new machines, including loading software, start-up checks, software commissioning, fault finding, and machine improvements.Travel to perform site installations and customer visits for service and support.Assist with local machine commissioning.NB: A valid passport is essential.
