Role SummaryReporting to a Grade A artisan, the Mechanic Assistant provides support to the qualified personnel in the field and the workshop floor.Accountabilities / Key Performance AreasAssisting Technicians in order for them to meet their deadlines. Ensures jobs are completed timeously, accurately and safely.ResponsibilitiesPerforms all and or any ancillary duties required in the given work area and or job as instructed by the technician or foreman.Provides general assistance to the responsible mechanic as required.Performs routine machine and/or equipment assemblies when and where specialist skill sets are not required.SkillsUndertakes workshop maintenance as instructed.Performs tooling maintenance as instructed.Operates lifting and or rigging equipment as instructed.Minimum RequirementsGrade 10 or technical equivalent (NQF2).Minimum 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a technical, workshop or mechanical environment.Skills:Follows instructions.Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures.Good verbal communication skills in English.Good housekeeping skills.Characteristics:Hard working, Friendly, Sober habits.
