Mechanical Utilities Foreman - eThekwini, DurbanSalary: R40k CTC Per Month, NegotiablePurpose of Position:Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Utilities Foreman for a permanent position based in eThekwini, Durban, KwaZulu Natal. The primary responsibility is to ensure effective, energy-efficient operations of utilities for the line and plant, keeping utilities equipment performances within benchmark limits and executing themes related to energy and cost savings. All in order to maximize machine uptimes for productions and implement planned, predictive, and proactive maintenance.Minimum Requirements:MatricNational Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering & other related CertificationsRelevant maintenance and project management experience, preferably in a beverage or fast-moving consumables goods environment6-8 years strong mechanical experience in the field of Thermic Heaters, compressors, chillers, or water treatment plants or similar preferredExperience managing a plant's mechanical and utilities departmentMechanical maintenance of Pulp/Paper/Chemical/Resin Plant & Utilities OperationsExcellent communication skillsProficiency in MS Office/Excel Skills & Oracle (advantageous)Experience and Skillset:Coal boilersSteam systemsCooling towersRefrigeration systemsAir compressorsWastewater treatment plantsWater filtration (UF/RO)Valves, pumps, piping systems, heat exchangersElectrical systemsInstrumentation and civil workRole Overview:Ensuring effective environmental, health, safety, and risk management to local standardsEnsure that world-class asset care and maintenance principles are introduced and adhered toCompile, manage, and control maintenance budget including capexManage performance and people development within the departmentPlan utilities availability and planned shutdownsEnsure compliance to OHSACT and all Company Risk, Health and Safety proceduresDevelop and implement annual departmental business plansEnsure maintenance plans for equipment are current and drive ICC complianceProblem-solving and technical guidance of the maintenance teamsReduction of unplanned downtime, optimize utilization and efficiency of plant resourcesConduct all required risk assessments and Hazop processesManage and maintain site facilities and infrastructureOther Duties:Execution of scheduled, preventive & proactive maintenanceEnsuring spares availabilityMinimize repetitive breakdownsOptimize expenses by proper trackingMaintain best possible COCDaily monitoring of gas consumptionsShift planning & performance reporting
