Hire Resolve's client, a chemical manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their team in Amanzimtoti. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and a passion for safety and efficiency in the workplace. Responsibilities: Supervision & Leadership Lead and manage a team of mechanical technicians, ensuring the timely and efficient completion of maintenance tasks. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team. Coordinate training and development for team members to ensure skill enhancement and knowledge of best practices. Maintenance & Reliability Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure maximum equipment uptime. Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with engineering teams on the design, installation, and modification of mechanical systems to improve plant efficiency. Compliance & Safety Ensure all mechanical activities comply with Evoniks safety standards and relevant industry regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and participate in plant safety programs. Ensure team adherence to permit-to-work, lock-out/tag-out, and other safety protocols. Operational Support Provide technical support to operations for troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues. Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and equipment documentation. Support cost-control efforts by optimizing resource allocation, reducing downtime, and minimizing waste. Project Management Assist in planning and executing mechanical projects, including resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for specialized maintenance tasks or upgrades. Track and report project progress to senior management, ensuring milestones are met and any delays are addressed promptly Requirements: Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Trade certification as a Mechanical Fitter or Millwright will be advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a mechanical supervisory role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within the chemicals or peroxide industry. Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping systems. Proficiency with maintenance management software (e.g., SAP PM) and CMMS systems.
