Key Performance Output The successful candidates will be reporting to the Senior Manager: Site Maintenance & Engineering and will be responsible but not limited to the following: Support development of a strategy for infrastructure and asset management that is integrated, multidisciplined and enables the long-term sustainability of the company's assets and infrastructure. Translate organisational goals applicable to area of responsibility as derived from business plan into clear direction, implement effectively and efficiently and ensure that appropriate remedial actions are taken. Review value of practices, systems and structures to determine appropriateness in light of the strategic intent and take remedial actions where necessary. Develop/Adopt and entrench mechanical engineering standards and frameworks for general infrastructure development. Provide Mechanical Engineering expertise to the group to ensure smooth and optimum performance of plant, machinery and equipment (i.e. baggage systems, passenger loading bridges, lifts, escalators, travelators, etc.) with a specific focus on design, reliability and lifecycle maintenance. Develop engineering briefs (scoping, technical specification, standards) for specific mechanical initiatives. Development and implementation of asset maintenance programmes throughout the group. Provide input into airport development plan in line with field of expertise Ensure compliance to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices. Manage overall governance and provide input into contract specifications. Management of consultant, contractors and service providers through applicable conditions of contract. Compile, manage and account for relevant budgets according to business requirements and specifications. Prepare payment certificates and approve invoices. Assisting with the building of technical competence in the organization. Manage maintenance CAPEX projects in line with set standards. Oversee commissioning/testing of projects specifications to sign-off on project delivered. Collate, update and ensure as built documentation are submitted at handover to allow for the development, operation and maintenance of assets
Technical Skills and Experience The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: Bachelor's degree in engineering/Bsc (Hons)/B Tech (Mechanical Engineering) (4 Years – 480 Credits). 6 years operational experience in Engineering and Contract management. 3 year's experience in Stakeholder Management 1 year in Airport environment (will be added advantage). ECSA registration (will be an added advantage) ECSA and SAIME membership (will be an added advantage). Engineering Design Contract Management Understanding of Sound Engineering Principles Knowledge of Relevant legislations Project Management Skills MS Office Code 8 Driver's license Sound understanding of Engineering Principles
