JOB DESCRIPTION INFORMATION: Job Title: Mechanical Fitter Employment Type: Permanent Work Model: Onsite ( Travel from JHB to DBN regularly) JOB CONTEXT: We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team.
The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing various water pump systems, conducting inspections, diagnosing issues, and replacing damaged components.
The ideal candidate will have experience with water pumps, a strong understanding of pump mechanics and hydraulics, and the ability to read technical manuals and use diagnostic tools.
Tasks and Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, overhaul, and repair of API 610 pumps, Sulzer pumps, Byron Jackson pumps (Stages 2, 3, 4), and Vertical Spider pumps.
Assemble and disassemble pump components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
Diagnose mechanical issues and provide efficient, effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Conduct thorough inspections of pump systems, ensuring optimal performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
Work collaboratively with other team members to complete projects within scheduled timelines.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations in all activities.
Document work performed, including inspections, repairs, and tests, in a detailed and clear manner.
Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, with specific expertise in servicing API 610 pumps, Sulzer pumps, Byron Jackson pumps (Stages 2, 3, 4), and Vertical Spider pumps.
Strong knowledge of pump systems, components, and repair techniques.
Experience with mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting, assembly, and installation.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and ability to interact with customers and colleagues effectively.
Relevant mechanical qualifications.
Previous experience in a similar industry (e.g., oil and gas, power generation, water treatment) is advantageous.
Package & Remuneration: Will be agreed based on qualifications, applicable banking experience and previous earnings.
