One of our clients based in Gauteng is looking to hire a Qualified Mechanical Fitter to join their team. The artisan will be responsible for all aspects of the engineering maintenance work required to ensure optimum running and performance of all the lines in the Frozen French Fries, Vegetable production facility and ACS, supporting overall plant and business performance Areas of responsibility cover:Ensure that all equipment are operating in design specification parameters to eliminate down timeEffective execution of the equipment preventative maintenance system to ensure maximum line efficiency , throughput rate , maximise up time(minimize breakdowns)Effective management of critical spares required for the all lines and to actively ensure correct spares holding and minimize cost and downtimeEffective planning and execution, including timeous spares procurement, of planned repair and breakdown repairs on all linesMaintaining of best maintenance practices for both the engineering and operational running of the lines, and including the training and transfer of skills to fellow artisans and operatorsSupport on the implementation of projectsActive execution and support of continuous improvement projects to support plant drive to improve quality, yield and throughput whilst minimizing costExecution of and contribution to the Plant Safety systemExecution of and adherence to all food safety requirements (HACCP/GMP) including internal food safety auditingInspection and repairs as and when required on ammonia plant, boilers, effluent plant, air compressors, steam and air linesPerform ad hoc tasks as and when requiredSkills /Knowledge Strong technical background within FMCG manufacturing environment experience within food manufacturing with packaging experience would be an advantageTechnical expertise on, but not limited to :Hydraulic and pneumatic equipmentProcessing equipment i.e. peelers, blanchers, pocket elevators and fryersMetal detection and defect rejectionBox sealersConveying equipment, vibratory feeding and tipping equipmentExposure to HACCP and food safety auditing
