Duties:Designing and engineering mechanical systems for fire suppression, detection, and control in accordance with local, state, and national fire codes and regulations.Conducting feasibility studies and assessing the requirements of fire protection systems for various facilities and environments.Collaborating with architects, construction teams, and other stakeholders to incorporate fire protection systems into building designs and plans.Performing calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of mechanical fire systems.Selecting and specifying appropriate equipment, such as fire pumps, sprinklers, extinguishers, and alarms, considering factors such as fire hazards, occupancy types, and building layouts.Overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical fire systems.Conducting inspections and audits of existing fire protection systems to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance with regulations.Developing maintenance and inspection schedules for fire protection equipment and systems.Providing technical guidance and support to clients, contractors, and maintenance personnel regarding fire protection systems.Keeping up to date with industry trends, advancements, and changes in fire safety codes and regulations.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Proven experience in designing, installing, and maintaining mechanical fire protection systems.Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and standards, such as NFPA, IBC, and local regulations.Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and hydraulic calculation tools.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the highest level of safety and compliance.Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection Engineering (preferred).Relevant certifications in fire protection engineering or related fields (e.g., CFPS, NFPA certifications) (preferred).Apply now!
